4 1" overflow handle 1100gph???

I guess I dont understand what way you're talking about doing it. I'll check out your diagram when you get off work:)

its pretty simple. the height of the back loop on the pvc overflow is whats gonna determine the overflow status of the system. of ur water drops below the loop on the back, overflow stops. when it rises again, overflow begins. best part is it pulls from the middle/lower part of the tank to grab all ur poo n what not, but its still n overflow system. not a syphon.

That's how I did mine except it's drilled so that all the plumbing is hidden on the back, and instead of the first 90 going up, I used a tee going up and down with a ball valve and a quick disconnect for 1 1/2" hose for super fast water changes. I did 2 x 1 1/2" of these near the bottom and 2 x 3/4" overflows on top to skim the surface. It's a 460g. tank with 2 pumps pushing 1017gph each. Works great.

turns out that 3 1" overflows is more then enough for 1100 gph

should be. we ran 2 - 1 1/4" overflows and it handled 1100gph pretty well. and 2 - 1.5" overflows on my 400 and it handles 2200gph.. got any pics of how you set it up dude?
