so my camera sucks, so i probably cant get pics
but i found 3 frontosas today, probably 4" or so, and they were labeled as "Blue Frontosa" the girl said she was pretty sure this was the only species that they call "blue" ...
anyhow they were 20 originally, and i got them for $15 each

i was just wondering if theres a good way to tell which variation of Frontosa they are? obviously i will have to wait a little longer before i can tell the sex of them

wow! that is a really really great deal for 4 inch fronts. how many stripes do they have?

i knew that was coming ... 6 black stripes, one just at the end, before the tail, and then up toward the eye, theres a stripe over the eye ...
i see other posts that talk about a "mask" and if its not a mask, then they are burmundi ?
so whats the mask?

kinda what i thought, so i couldn't turn it down no matter what kind of frontosa they turn out to be ...
also, i they as all the same age (so she said) and one appears to be considerably larger body size than the other 2, so i am hoping maybe i have different sexes ...

Here's a picture of a Frontosa with a mask they are Zaires.

If this doesn't help at all please post pics so we can help determine what they are.

Here is a pic of my burundi. See how the stripe is vertical on the side of the face not on the front of the face between the eyes ?

Here is a juvie pic of my Tanzanian mpimbwe, they are just starting to get a mask between the eyes. They are also more blue than burundi on the body and head areas.

With out a pic all we can do is show some pics of our fish for you to compare yours to it. There is no way for us to tell what type of tanz or burundi or zaire you might have with out a pic, even with a pic it might be very hard.
