well first :welcome: to MFK
are those the fish in your 125 or in your 55 the corys and parrot cichlid
at the size there at just do good water changes and move them to the 55 when there a little bigger (2''-3'') or sooner if you see some aggression i'm not sure if you could keep all 4 of them it really depends on there sex with a breeding pair they would out grow the 55 and in a 125 the would probly kill the parrot and eat the corys and its very possible they would kill every thing in the tank MABYE you could keep a 2 or 3 males in a 125 if they would tolorate each other i've seen two in the same tank your best bet would be to have them be mostly if not all females and try to keep them in the 125 and if some don't get along move it to the 55 a female could live in a 55 for life

thanks for the welcome killerfish, the 125 in the pic has 3 albino oscars, pleco, parrot, and cat. i have 4 jd's in a 29 right now, all the same size some chasing of course no malicious damage though, i think im just prepping myself for the enivitable bigger tank these guys will need.... i saw some 4-5" j d's in the store they sure are beautifull fish, the guy in the store said id be lucky with only 1 in the end? are they MONSTERS or what? i guess ill be finding out soonj enough!!!!! thanks again for the kind welcome MFKers!!!! greg

how does one determine the sex of j d's? the four i have seem to be doing fine the middle sized fish is getting nipped, but nothing severe there size right now is about 2.5"-1.5".. i layed small thin layer of gravel and propped some slate making about 5 decent little caves... these go from dark to light when feeding?

they look very simalar when very small, but as they get larger you can tell sex because females will keep the blue face markings, where as males will lose it with age.

first many people try to look at the speckles but all you have to do is look on the gill plate if the bottem of the mouth has blue or green or any shiny color its female male just have there base color and no shiny colors under the mouth also males have more round speckles and in straight rows females have them all over second yep they change color when full mad sad lonely or scared also the color of the substrate afects there color but there mood is the biggest factor they change when they wan't to thats why there so cool

thanks for the insight killer, my wife has taken to their beauty, i bet ive got 4 females... i agree these fish are cool i saw 7"er today really beautifull!!!!

i have 2 males about 2-3inch in a 29 grow out ther goin in a 75 but iam swapping the smaller male for a nice female, gl with them eventually you will prob have to split them, male jd dont get along with other male jd

that is a beaut ken, im sure i have one female if i go by the description she is also the biggest..what type jd species is that?
