4 palm sized miniscule aquaria

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think I read someplace about it being the worlds smallest goby? I might be mistaken but I think that is what I read. I have been researching gobies lately.

I saw this eariler today I think it's awesome. That gave me the flash back to those little mini ecosystems they sold in the discovery store with those poor little shrimp inside.

And hey if they are recyling these items to make these tiny fish tanks they are going green :D

good fun idea for a micro garden , i wouldnt want to subject any fish to them though , my only concern is if they took off the questions are bound to appear " how many p-bass could i put in my bulb " it was only last weekend i overheard someone in a lfs asking the guy if a blue dempsey would work in his bio-orb ,( they where very small dempseys but just shows how little people research things these days before buying) they guy was pretty sick when the guy behind the counter pointed him in the direction of the white cloud minnows . lol

I have seen those before on aquahobby and was very impressed. I like the first the most.

on the world's smallest fish
IT SAYS they are relatives to carp AKA a cyprinid. If they were at the LFS they would be sold to noobs and die, also there would be a new size tank for them (like 200 ml) and I'll bet people would use it for other fishes. I hope it doesn't become commercially available. The smallest marine fish is the dwarf or pygmy goby at like 9 mm or something. I thought 3 cm deepwater sculpin was pretty small but this... is microscopic

Oh what a coincidence, I was just planning a pickle jar planted "aquarium" stocked with invertebrates... maybe scuds and a snail or somethin. It is 2 litres. I'll bet if you sealed the lid after dosing sufficient potassium and enough stocking you could have a self sustaining "ecosystem." (I dunno how to get CO2 to the plants)

Even if I did seal the jar I don't know what the gammarus could eat. They eat leaf litter and dead things in the wild. I have grown some before and they are fascinating.

._. i doubt that the plants will survive in that..

i take that bak._. ^^;; i guess it is possible providing that he got enuf light and takes water from existing bigger tanks wit stable water condition , cuz or else a single water change wit tap water could kill everything....

if this catches on does that mean there's going to be a forum named, "minisculefishkeepers?"

Threads like " Need help stocking my eyedropper" < the next level

I think this is totally cool, until it hits stores and the first idiot comes in asking, "can my betta live in that? and can I feed it bacon bits?" :screwy:

I see the retards of the world flocking to the new idea like a swarm of locusts........:shakehead
