4 year (almost to the date) Giant Gourami growth thread *pic heavy*

I was going through a bunch of my old pics of my GG from purchase to today and thought it'd be fun to share the journey since the first pic is almost exactly 4 years in the past.

First pic: 8-1-2021, day of purchase. Put in the 35 hex I had since that was the largest HR would let me keep in my office.
Second pic is 9 days later, 8-10-2021.

8-16 first, 8-29, almost one month of growth, still in the hex

last two in the hex, he was growing too quickly to stay in there. 9-18-2021 and 9-23-2021

Blurry photo but I brought him home and put him in my 55 grow out with a bunch of rainbows. 1-1-2022

4-21-2022: Final pic in the 55 as he was still growing too quickly. That black pot is 8" square for scale.

5-12-2022: Still not slowing down after being moved to the 75 gallon with a few cichlids. Nuchal hump growth apparent

12-5-2022: Really bad pic but shows some body thickening. Growth lengthwise has slowed, guessing he was around 10" at this point

1-20-2023: Still slow growing lengthwise but still thickening. Alot more personable that it was previously. This was about the time he started doing his best oscar impression. Reflection shows me building-in the 180 to put him in later.

9-7-2024: Got a good deal on a 210 with and used it instead of the 180 (to give him breathing space in the 180 made the waterline visible). Length about 12" but the thickening continues. "Adult face" setting in

Last pics
7-2025: pics taken over the past few days. Still getting thicker but length is between 13-14" now. Definitely has that grown GG face now lol
