40 gallon breeder stocking

I have 5 med firemouths 3 in they are in the 40 now for about 3 days..anyone know how long it will take to pair up right now i cant sex them and they all look like a bunch of guys hanging out at a bar. what are the odds of getting 5 males in a tank of 150 of them could i be that unlucky.

I have a 40 breeder extra and i have some gold jd growing out. Might try keeping one as a wet pet.

sometimes I think he'd like a bigger tank , but then I realize the 40 has more floorspace than a 55

it may take a few weeks ,give it time....

ok so I have the 5 for over a week and it stands as this, 4 males which one is the alpha and only one female.my delema is this the alpha which is stunning is not really letting anyone settle down ,he has no interest in the female what so ever,but two sub-dominate ones do. do i remove the alpha? in order to get a pair or keep him and remove the rest hoping he hooks up with her.
