Ok cool thanks and yeah I know I have an old 55 gallon someone gave me with about 15 Jack Dempsey fry I raised up and traded in for credit with the exception of 1 of the fish but the support broke and I filled that thing like 1/3 of the way just the other day and it was already bowing like crazy.

build a cross brace out of wood w/ a screwgun/portable drill. IIRC, Polyurethane can be used to coat it and protect from mold and mildew and is safe for fish if it gets wet and drips into the tank BUT, don't Poly it until we get more responses to confirm it's safe FIRST, ok?

Polyurethane is aquarium safe and leaches no toxins if condensation forms on it and drips into the water???

YES or NO??

I would only trust it when completely dry.
I would get some glass cut and silicone it with aquarium silicone.
But yes once cured polyurethane is safe.
