Well, the really small one like multi's you could prolly fit up to a dozen. I don't know much about shellies though, you might want to see what others say.

I read they were really skittish though. I have an apartment, I dont really have a place to put the tank that I wouldnt be constantly walking by scaring them. I definitely want khuli loaches or maybe a pictus catfish, they are cool. I like the way bottom feeders look. Thanks for the replys, what could I keep in the 30?
You could still go with a senegalus. Definitely not the oscar though. You'll want 75g for a single full grown oscar.

they get big and you would need a larger tank. the leaf fish idea sounds pretty cool though and they are unusual.
