go with an oscar mine bittes my fingers but it doesnt hurt a 55g will fit a adult oscar unless u get the one that grows to 15inches most stay around10-12 inches

i'd go with a red highfin wolf for sure. they have teeth and it would probably bite down on him if he pissed it off lol. you can have tankmates with it too.
 
from what i hear the redfin's are much more active then the common wolf, although less aggressive. i'm sure that guy with the vamp' tetras will chime in and agree with me soon lol

well since they only get around 8" i'd say a 29 would be absolute minimum, but bigger is always better!
 
breeding pair of cons, they will bite him while protecting there fry but you may not find homes for the fry,
if i was you i would go for a Jack dempsey cichlid, you could have him and a couple of dithers
