It's not much work at all really. I just started grinding and it's coming right off like dust, Plus I am DA sanding it with 180 grit so it will be nice and flat. The frame is going Gloss Black.

Hey got questions though I want to Epoxy the back with black epoxy but all I found was Drylock masonary sealant. Is that OK to use? I found Appliance Epoxy for refrigerators but I don't know what one to use so can anyone clue me in?

I'm not entirely certain, but I'm pretty sure you don't want anything with pigments in it.

great find. if you're going to filter it with a wet/dry, don't plan on using the tank drain for your drip system. It would make a great emergency drain though.

I am deciding against a wet/dry for now and going with a eheim 2260, Magnum 350, 2 Aquaclear 110's and a Fluidized Bed Filter.

Great Deal! Can't get any better than that. Looks like a fun fixerupper.

How's the tank coming along? I would have used a wet dry for that beast. How does the drip system work? Keep us updated.

Coming along at decent pace. I got all the grinding done and sanding and taped it all up and sprayed the frame with primer and tomorrow I am painting it then cutting the loose silicone off and putting fresh beads in. Then the next day hopefully I can find some epoxy water lock to get the plywood sealed and nice and black. The the biggest job is carrying into my house because 4 people could barely carry it before so I think I'll need about 8.

I am starting to scratch the idea of a drip too because I dont want to run a wet dry plus the tank is going to be right next to a drain and a water output so I'll just change it that way.

Any updated picture? Definately looks like a lot of work but for $50..... you can't really complain.
