Its been about 48 hours and the silicone has already turned hard enough I can't dig my nail into it. I didn't gobb the silicone on in a super thick bead so im wondering if it's already cured? I don't want to rush things but im not thinking I need ti wait a full 7 days before test fill either, what's everyones opinion on this? 24 hours ago I put a good bead around the outside of the glass so re-enforce where I had skimped a little. Looking forward to seeing if it will hold water so id like to fill it up asap without rushing things

how did the straw trick work for you?

i would wait another day i got in the same boat as you and rushed my last build and the silicone under the glass was not cured and the water pushed through it and it started leaking. that is why i had to use the straw to re fill the void the water created

I would wait a while longer No matter how bad the anticipation is. You could always drive south and help me build my stand. I also feed helping hands.

Straw worked great. Until I got carried away a little bit and now I have to clean silicone off the glass lol. But the bead of silicone is alot more trustworthy now. And im thinking test fill will be tomorrow evening since I have done the silicone in 3 stages it has dried alot faster. The bead in the middle will be 4 days cured. Then all the rest will be 2+ days cured.

The new bead looks MUCH better :) I would give it w/e it recommends for cure time, better safe than sorry. If there is even 1 small little uncured spot near the bottom the water pressure will find it and push it out. I had to wait 21 days for my cure......so even if it's 7 that's not too bad :p It does suck to wait though I know lol

Oh I love to cook let me tell you. And more than likely if someone comes over for dinner it's some type of meat broiled to perfection I'm running low on steak right now but I have all types of meat. I love my seasonings.

Haha! What you going to cook?

With the warn weather it's going to dry fast I would wait 3-5 days let it fully dry all the way through. Just to be safe.
