lol, tnx. You might be doing more of that again within the next few years as well. I am thinking about starting up a very serious catfish anatomy thread to help educate everyone on their pets better.

Also as someone suggested in another thread to someone else a Leiarius pictus might be nice!!

You could try some Speckled Catfish if you can find them. There wild down here in florida. I got some in my tank. There a type of bullhead. All black with a white belly and silver spots covering their sides. They only get about a foot long max and are extremely active swimmers they never stay in the same spot for too long.

Looks pretty cool, ideally i want something that gets 2 feet

lima shovel nose catfish?

Lima is the perfect size, I just wish they had a cooler pattern like TSN or tigirinus

Not to derail, but what's a "wild arowana"?

Arowana caught in the wild at about 12" reduces the chance of drop eye

perhaps a Arowana that was caught rather then store bought?

^^^

Giraffe nosed catfish. Grow to about 2', very peaceful and active.

The Giraffe noses look awesome, how are they on price and availability?

Cephalosilurus apurensis :) they look amazing Always wanted one myself.

That does look pretty cool

Giraffe catfish

that's 2 votes for giraffe cat

X2 on the giraffe...small mouth aswell so they cant eat anyone buut they do get 3' not 2'. Some of my favorite cats. My other opinion would be niger, irwini, or granulous. Extremly slow growing.

3' in the wild or you think it'd get that big in my tank? It'd suck to care for a fish that long and ultimately realize it can't live happily in my tank.

I know everyone likes Giraffe catfish, but with a max size approaching 3' that fish would be pushing it in this tank. Auchenoglanis occidentalis

Unless you are going for a Parauchenoglanis punctatus spotted giraffe. they max under 2'

Definitely. Id rather the bigger species but never know if it'll fit in my tank full grown

Large tigrinus.

Wish I could find a small one. Large ones are big bucks

Wow I really like that one but Im reading conflicting max sizes everything from 8" to 30"

i had a marble sail fin that got to be about 27 inches and pritty much stoped growing after that had him about 2 years love that guy he was fisty tho amazing fish had him eating out of my hand after a very short time

Calophysus macropterus ;)

Never seen a giraffe cat remotely close to 3' in captivity. Biggest I've seen or heard of was 28". As far as availability. BigUmbeeFan is selling one close to 10" for $80. Great price. And he's in Jersey I think.
