As a continuation of that thread, fyi pier never acted normal, when i caught him he was flopping around in some weeds and swam right into my hand. He was also aa lot less active. He hid more. He ate less. He spooked easier. He died. When you think about he was either messed up from birth or was sick in the river.

Based on where and how you caught it, it probably was either sick or injured when you found it. I once caught a carp when it swam onto shore while I was fishing; I was pretty surprised by this occurrence.


While I'm not saying that these fish aren't interesting (they sound pretty neat), it may be in your best interest to not make any further threads about these salmon for a while in order to avoid having them degrade into another flame war over their legality, the ethics of keeping them, etc. which will inevitably end up closed. That's just my 2¢ on that matter.
