40g big enough for L018 golden nugget pleco

It depends. There seems to be more than 1 species described. Mine have been in the 75g planted for 3 years and are still under 3" just like when I got them.

That's odd because all three that go by that common name get much bigger than that.

Seriously man, dwarf gn's would be sick. A guy tried to sell me "Dwarf Red Tail Plecos" assuring me they would only go to 3" but they looked like baby L114's so i shied away.
