have you thought about the crested geckos?
Tank is too short. They prefer to climb. 40 gallon tall would be better.
Oh I see so if I was to attempt that kind of community set up it would be pretty much just guessing and hoping. not too much a fan of that Idea.
I was really interested in having it as a combined land and water paludarium, any ideas what I could stock in such a set up ?
I kept a similar setup back in the day like that. Frogs, newts in the water, and terrestial semi-aquatic salamanders on the land as well. It can work but you need to figure out exactly what the requirements for all of them are. For example, you can't have tropical frogs with temperate salamanders. Having said that, there's few if any tropical tropical salamanders.
My setup had a small leopard frog, 3 lined salamander, and some paddle tail newts in the water. I would feed crickets to the frog and salamander and bloodworms to the newt.
I can't stand feeding live. Hence the reason why I only keep cresties and fish now lol. The only thing I'd consider getting back into would be dart frogs. You have to feed live but culturing fruit flies isn't too bad.
