Nice diagrams. Looks good but that is alot of flow to be running through the kaldness. Contact time with MBBR's is important for the thin film to develop on the media.

Cheap sump/barrel but seems to do the job, i have same setup 50lt snapper/hybrid. be sure to put a bubble trap some where because if not you will have a terrible micro bubbles mist in the tank, flush valve so you can clean the dead bacteria after the k1. and goood luck keep the updates

The way I understand it is that it will be difficult to "prime" the media with that high of a flow but as long as the media is already cycled it should be fine. I plan to let the media cycle without the pump so that once the high flow moves through the chamber the bacteria has already latched onto the media.

If this will not work please let me know. Do you have any other suggestions? Most fluidized beds I've seen have the same flow through them as would be going through the tank.

his flow will be very similar to what i run and i havent had a problem since my tank has been up and running altho i would like to learn more about the Flow rate to contact time as it would be good to know wot is most efficient. As it would be pointless having so much flow if you were better off with a little less flow, if anyone knows best way to calculate this let me know :)
