what could i put in a 45 gallon cube? 24x24x 18..... :D

A. Comp "Dwarf Sumbu" are hot shellies right now. Most shellies would work in that size tank.

That footprint is going to limit what you can put in there, but there are options.

You could start with a bunch of Brichardi type fish and let a pair form and get rid of the rest. They are neat to watch fill a tank with fry. Plus the adult pair will allow the older fry to care for the younger ones, which is unusual and pretty cool to see.

what about yellow labs only intill they get to big then they go in too a bigger tank or cynotilapia afra white top?

The only thing I don't like about yellow labs is that they are fairly common and when I bred them I couldn't give the fry away. If you like yellow fish then you might be able to make Leleupi work in there, again probably a situation where you want to start with 6 small ones and let a pair form, then sell the others back. They are a little larger than brichardi type fish and a lot more agressive, but it could work.
