45 gallon tank??

hmm i wouldn't do saulosi in a 2 foot tank

they can grow to 5 inches they seem kind of big for my 3 foot tank

In my experience, fish often grow larger than what is given as max size in the profiles. 5" is a monster saulosi though....

With that size tank, I'd go Tang as well.

I have saulosi, I know they are a smaller species.
I know alot of people have fit them in smaller tanks.
But I just believe all mbuna should have at least 36". Length matters more than height with malawis there fast fish and like to swim, they would appreciate the room.
In my experience almost all the ones I have seen have grown to 4-5 inches, but a bigger tank and better diet is probably why like mokujin mentioned.

look at some cookie cutters of your length on the site you referenced for more ideas
