I'm purchasing a 450 gallon tank on Sunday. The dimensions are 6'x4'x30". I do not have room in my home to set this up and was going to just put it in my shed until we moved and I had a place to put it.
I have a friend who owns a bait and tackle shop in my home town and I was telling him how I was getting this tank and that I wasn't going to be able to use it for a while and he told me that if I wanted I could set it up in his shop as an attraction to draw people in and he will give me free bait and stuff for doing it. And I can come take it whenever I want.
What do you all think would be a cool stock for this tank? Thanks in advance

Any kind of fish you could normally catch with the bait you'd be getting from him. Bass, sunfish, catfish, crayfish, perch, etc. So long as they're small enough when you get them, they shouldn't have a problem getting along. And so long as you pick species that stay smaller, you shouldn't run in to a problem on room.

+1 id go native monsters. Maybe bass pickerel and sunfish. Or if it can be kept cold enough a few different trout species would be cool

Free bait for setting up a tank is an awesome deal :D. Since it's a fishing store is to with game fish: bass, pickerel, larger sunfish (bluegills and greens), bullheads, etc

He has a tank set up right now but it's more like a tub, he has 7-8" bullheads, LMB, and grass carp. I'd like to catch a smaller bowfin for it.

I've got a FL spotted gar that's pretty fun and cool to watch, but personally I think it'd be awesome if you actually put fish native to the lakes around his store.

So maybe got out and catch some and stick em in the tank? :P

I can't see a better ad for his bait than showing the fish you can catch with it.

School of perch or crappie a catfish or two (Bullhead or Channel) it'll need a largemouth and maybe a few bluegill and possibly pickerel. I'd focus on fish that are native in the area and the customers regularly catch.

don't know why you're asking when you've already got the answer...
2 bowfin and 3 smallmouth bass and 2 bullheads would be my choice setup.
