45gal stockin options I WANT YOUR IDEAS

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Royal Plecos do eat algae but that is only part of their diet. You where talking about a natural aquarium so I figure you are going to put some drift wood in it. All Royals need some drift wood to chew on and I think it is part of there diet. They will also eat algae wafers and cucumber, zucchini or squash.

schooling fish: Congo tetra, emperor tetra, bleeding heart tetra, Black Widow tetra, some sort of barb (Not a huge fan of cyprinids myself but some do look nice) or giant danio

larger Fish: some sort of geophagus or other peaceful cichlid would be neat. or you could do red tail or ruby sharks. but if you want large topwater id go with some sort of gourami or angelfish. Id recommend a leopard Ctenopoma but I doubt your planned Khulis would last long with him in the tank. Wont bother anything else though.

just my 2 cents

idk the clown loaches you have but i havent seen them bigger then 3-4" even then i was thinking at max 4

i have seen a ALOT of loaches over 8 inches... an some over 10" it might take alittle while but they will def get bigger then 4 inch well not in a 45 gallon.. youll just stunt there growth an lessen there life span

I just sold my complete 45g setup with the identical dimensions you had. My stock in mine was the following:

1 Male Jack Dempsey
1 Male Pink Con
12 Giant Danio
