will this create alot of dark space in the tank? i've been looking for t5 lights for my 125g but most i find locally are 48" lights.

I kind of like how it looks, doesn't really leave dark spots, just less intense lighting, looks darker in the photo than in person

i have a 4ft light on my 7ft tank. yes, there are dark areas but i like the way it looks. i dont like super bright tanks. btw, this is only one T5 bulb :)

I ran into the same problem looking for lights on my tank. Not to many people selling 60"+ lighting fixtures here in NJ. I got a deal on a 48" 4x96W. I'm still in the set up stage and I haven't even started on the canopy yet. Nowthat I have the light on the tank I might use some "daylight" 65W on the ends to reducethe dark patches. As a last resort, I may import my 48" 2x65W ontothe 200 gal tank and just let them overlap.

Right now it seems fine, but I think I'm going to try the extra lights anyway.

4 foot 4 x 65w over a 180.

I have a 3 foot t5 on a 6 foot tank. The tank is dim so it calms the wild deepwater fish that are residents. The light falloff on both sides looks great imo. I usually only run one 3ft T5 actinic bulb, so most of the 'light' is a blue glow.

I have used a 48" light with 2 bulbs on my 135 and it was great... But than I had piranhas so I needed dark spots for them to be comfortable...
