I just measured my 300 (30" tall), and it's 1/2"

half inch and 30 inches tall??? I was considering a 300 that was 1 1/4 inches thick. Does yours bow out?

well yeah I would would have to wait a couple more months before the extra 800 would be in the budget. So I would rather not have to use 3/4 but what do you think about the 1/2" with it being 24 inches tall? Frame or would it be alright without one?

It does bow, but it's not too terrible.

I'd say no frame as long as you can get your edges straight. Slightly wavy edges will cause gaps in the plastic weld and allow for air bubbles. The straight edge contact in the glue is what will make the difference in a strong seam or not. Also, clamping is important too. The clamps will force out air bubbles that will haunt you later. In my experience, joints with lots of air bubbles are much easier to break.

i think 1/2 you are fine...

180 are 2 foot tall and 1/2

please take pics along the way

Here is a cheater trick to get straight edges. If the sheets are 4x8 and you are going to cut them to 2x8, use the machine cut edges as your glue edges. The edges that you cut yourself, use those as the top of the tank. The edges can be cleaned up with a router but a word of caution, the speed of a router can easily melt the acrylic if you do not move fast enough. Plastics are tricky with power tools.

k makes sense. Does it matter which sheet is on the inside? It would be the easiest to clamp with putting the side piece in between the two long ones. Does this make a difference in the stability of the tank?
