IMO...the 6 ft give fish the ability to stretch their fins and swim freely.

Also...sooner or later you will definitely want to get tank mates.
 
If you've already purchased the 4x2x2 this thread is kind of pointless isn't it? This is the question you ask BEFORE you make a decision on a tank.
 
I decided to do a bunch of smaller cichlids and a birchir and an eal... i couldn't fit a 5x1.5 or a 6x1.5 anyway...
 
ye theres alot of things you can put in that tank. what are you more into? cichlids?
 
I already have some fish,
I have

2 firemouths
1 jack dempsey
4 blood parrots
1 seganal birchir
1 striped pecock eal
1 unidentified sa(I think it is a port acura)
1 bristelnosed pleco
2 jewl cichlids

everyone is getting along... I am considering a non cichlid fish to add but I am not shore yet...
