post falls, id
Im interested in a banded bamboo, but still alot of research to do and alot to learn. Been learning about diet and habitat. Planning on ultra fine sand and minimal LR, maybe a SPS or two just for visual. Anyway, my proposed tank idea is 4'Wx8'Lx2'T aprox 450 gal. All the websites say 180 im thinkin 3' shark in 180 gal that cant be rite. Im not a big fan of "MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE". minnimum is not a great word in this hobby i prefer correct, healthy, adequate. I also dont want to house a shark for a few years then upgrade, i want to build a forever tank. Thanx for reading, any advice will be a great push in the rite direction.

Lol i didnt know if that would be enough tank for a bamboo, let alone something else. Weeeeelllll i have always been blown away by the beauty of morays, id love to have a zebra eel. Do u think that those two would work ok in a tank that size long term?

Possibly. It's a hit and miss combo.
Personally, I wouldn't do it.
I wouldn't do anything else toothy or aggressive.

What part of "nothing toothy" did you not get? Triggers are at the very top of the no-no list lol.
No triggers, no puffers, no eels, nothing mean with teeth.

I'm thinking something that's not too big, that is active and mid-dwelling.
Perhaps a school of Rabbitfish? That would be my choice.

You could pull off a Cali or Cortez ray in there, maybe two.

A school of tangs or butterflies would be cool too.

Or, a nice mixture of all these.

Really, it's up to you. Just try to stay peaceful. Bamboos don't mix well with mean fish

A zebra moray will be just fine. They are actually reef safe as well. They just prey on crabs, snails and other inverts. They won't even eat small fish.
You'd have no problems with a bamboo shark and zebra moray combo. Awesome eels as well!
