5 gal reef tank help

Thats good to know. I expect to have to do water changes on a weekly basis, but its nice to know I dont have to crowd my tank with other mechanical parts.

I would recommend a sump. I wish I had set mine up with a sump. Then if you end up needing a skimmer you can hide it in the sump.

A sump for a 5 gallon seems a bit much lol there is not a a lot you can stock that tank with. IMO if you stay consistent on water changes and don't rush, neither sump not skimmer is necessary

A sump for a 5 gallon is almost a necessity if your aren't an expert. If you are doing a reef. If you are doing FO then maybe not so much. The more water the better.
