I had to put my 4" male con and a couple females in a 3 gal for a week while I rearranged my fishroom. Before I was able to take them out, the tank was full of fry.

I've never even thought about that, but I've seen 'em breed in a 10 gal. Why anyone would want to breed convicts is beyond me though. Don't criticize me for saying that, but there are just so damn many of them and no pet store is going to pay you for them.

I get a buck a peice for one inchers. A lot of them still end up in the belly of the beasts though.

You are lucky, one inchers are going for less than $0.50 wholesale. Don't tell your local fishstore, lol.

Why would you even think about breeding cons in a bucket that is a pretty dumb ass idea IMO.

I was moving tanks to accomidate my new one and whiel in a 5 gallon bucket my 2.5"male and my 1.5" female had babies, but theye wer only in there temporaraly, mabye 3 days tops.

I bet they will breed, heck I have seen jellybean cichlids breeding in the tanks at Walmart!! I don't think it's a good idea because the male would probably kill everything and its so small he may die himself! But I am sure those things can breed like crazy almost anywhere with some good clean food and water.
