As Fish Head stated, I would go to the shed and crank up the generator.
I do need to invest in a few battery operated air pumps; for the times I am
not at home. This is a great thread. Thanks all for the info.
Clean your filters! The one main problem with short-term power outages is dead of the bacteria and resulting formation of toxins in the filter. That gets flushed into the tank when the power comes back on. Having clean filters can minimize that risk.
