Mine grew from 1" to 11" in 8 weeks, did you know they grow that fast.....bet not

7 weeks is a fare estimate to set up and cycle a 300+ tank, yours is 6" now so figure 13" when the new tank is ready.....So he will be stuck in a tiny 40 gal at over a foot long.....he will develop gill curl and you will lose intrest

Buy and cycle the tank before you buy the fish, thats 1 thing at MFK we can all agree about.....except this idiot...

:banhim::banhim::banhim::banhim::banhim: So much anger!! We are here to help and be helped, not bash.

Hey, Spyder001 USA, there's no need for bashing on other people in this forum. If you're here to help, try to refrain from cursing. It really doesn't make you any more higher of a rank then the rest of us. And you should ask some questions first before you start cursing and thinking your all B.A. Your version of a kiddie pool could be COMPLETELY different in another persons version, which in this case it is.

i have a heater in place and filters have been purchased. with the current foot print, he should be fine for that period. someone told me to feed him bread and i want to ask you is HALF a slice of THIN bread every 2 days ok?

I also forgot to add, I know have 2 powerful filters in the tank.

I don't really care about yours either, to be completely honest.

yeah feed it bread and put it in a kiddie pool....I cant wait to see where you are in 6mnths

No pics....no set-up

lol this guy asked for advice then called me an idiot before i bashed him, obviously you didnt read entire thread.....Im sorry but people taking RTC's and being so arrogant to what they require piss's me off. I mean i broke 100's of kiddie pools in my day and the one he linked to was garbage, again he provided link not just my "version". Go with a koi quarantine tank for 400$ not a kiddie pool 125$ and get the tank before the fish. Ive read 100's of post of people trying to stop the sale of these fish to idiots like this, its about time someone talk a lil harsh. BTW i didnt say anything the admins didnt like, the world isnt rainbows and butterflies, esp for RTC's livin in kiddie pools.

This is not a fish for people on a budget with 40 gal tanks, thats the message im trying to get across. Do you really think its a good idea to put a RTC in kiddie pool? To buy 1 before the tank is set-up? To powerfeed in a 40 gal? Do you agree with any of those things

BTW- your post was unnecessary for they have admin to regulate site...at least my posts had info

Everyone knows I love taking pics and videos of ALL my setups but since you don't believe me then why should I want you to believe me? I mean, wow. A troll over the Internet who I have never seen wants me to take pics. I will not please you but whoever wants to see my setup I will be more than happy to PM them a link. You may have broken loads then that is fine, but last time I rembered, you're not a fish. I am sorry for what I said but clearly I accepted what you said before until you spoke to me rudely and then I retaliated. I don't like you and it probably the same for you. I also have not fed him since the bloodworms and I cleaned the tank TWICE since. Drop it, if you wish to continue then you can PM me but as of now get off this thread. I wanted advice not this.

I never said life was butterflies and rainbows, yes life is tough and at the sane time we don't need people like you making it tougher. Okay, he has some minor problems, the fish isn't going to die rapidly or something. And yes still, there's no need for cursing. I dont know about you but I'm gonna be mature and leave it to you. Good luck with your fish and life.

Leave the moderating to the staff, there is no need for name calling. Stop assuming tone, and intention, and read the words for what they are.

Ok no pic, im trying to grasp what this kiddie pool and where you have it set up in the house? I trully believe not only as a fish guy but as a professional contractor it is not a good idea. I think what you want is a koi "show tank", which is your kiddie pool on steriods with fiber woven into the plastic + built in bulkheads for plumbing or a pond that can be filled above ground, niether should be more the 350$

I powerfeed mine 4 small meals a day over 16 hours. Feeding it to much in 1 sitting will cause it to be "constipated" and the RTC will not actually digest just the food regurgatiate it later. Giving him a quite dark area where he can sleep thus grow. Mine has been growing at a rate of 1 1/2 " per week and his gill curl has reversed with massages and pristine water. He jump'd from 2" to 10" in 6 weeks.

Read my post in full before you pretend to be an admin, I never said the fish would "die rapidly or something" I said it will out-grow the tank rapidly and is at high risk of "gill curl". I have found RTC and arrowana to be the most delicate of all fish at a young age. Since the actual cause of "gill curl" is still unkown its inportant to avoid the things that put it at high risk.
