5 inch Oscar and Chocolate & 1.5 Electric blue JD?

I was growing out an Electric blue JD in a 30 gallon, tiny little guy about 1 - 1.5 inch. He was in with angels and peacock eel. I noticed he developed white spots ALL over his body, at first I thought it was sand that kicked up but I think it's ich. Thing is no other fish in that 30 gallon has ich.

I also have a 55 gallon tank with a juvenile long-finned albino oscar and chocolate cichlid, both about 5 inches. And a Black ghost knife about 5 inches. I know it's overstocked, I will eventually rehome the BGK. I am currently treating that 55 with rid ich plus so I decided to put the EBJD in the 55.

The Oscar and Chocolate seems too slow to catch him, when they eventually cross paths, the EBJD quickly gets out of the way and hides somewhere, and he seems fine now... But will they eventually catch him and eat him? I think he is small enough to fit in their mouths...

Ok ty but that wasn't my question. My 55 gallon already had ich which was why I was treating it. I'm more concerned about my oscar and chocolate attempting to eat my baby EBJD.

Its been a few hours now and they seem to ignore him, but they are also very full from feeding... Hopefully I don't wake up to a missing EBJD

I didn't want to treat the 30 gallon yet. Just raised the temperature to see if i can get rid of ich that way first. Using rid ich plus is my last resort, which my 55 gallon had already reached, and the EBJD definately needed some meds.
 
Just make sure the divider fits good,maybe use plexiglass.your EBJD might be able to fit under/around.I think even if they dont eat him,the stress is not good while he has ich
 
to be completely honest, I don't think the EBJD will last long at all in the 55. For starters, they are much slower growing than their normal counterpart, and even the normal JDs won't grow nearly as fast as your Oscar will... I'm not too familiar with Chocolates, so I won't attempt to guess at their normal growth rate - but the O is probably going to hit a good growth spurt soon, to the point of probably fitting the EBJD in its mouth in one bite

If I were you I would treat both tanks with Rid Ich. I don't believe the instructions call for a raise in temp, just constant doses and water changes (if I remember correctly?). But treating both tanks is definitely playing on the safe side just to be sure all fish will be alright, regardless of symptoms shown

I would have kept the EBJD in the 30g to keep a better eye on him, but Angels can also become a little aggressive and nip fins at times (obviously every fish is different, but I've seen it happen more often than not). But if it's too late for that now, I would just do your absolute best to provide multiple hiding spots at both sides of the tank for the little EBJD if you keep it in the 55g. Specifically, spots that only (s)he can fit in for it to escape whenever needed
