This little guy is going to grow to about 7 feet as an adult. Hope you're ready! Very cool find. You're tank has to look awesome with those two in there.

Neo just got some of these.Ask him what he feeds them.

He was/is feeding brine..

mine loves brine!!
he will also eat bloodworm, and plankton (sometimes)
i haven't found a pellet yet that sinks slow enough for him to notice / catch ??

30 now so i can keep an eye on him and make sure he is eating and behaving well
then he will go to a 125, then 180, then a pond (unless i have a 300G+ by that time ;))

:( so he is now swimming in the lake in the sky

trying to keep his tank clean of all the brine he was eating was a CONSTANT task. he would only eat a little at a time, and the rest would make a mess of my tank

i guess with all the small water changes i was doing to try to keep the water clear, it must have started to re-cycle the tank or something? i have no idea, but i woke up this morning and he was dead :(

to anyone who is considering these as a pet, just realize what you are getting into. i know everyone says they are a pain in the :irked:, but not many people have actually tried to keep them

i have, and i will now say that i will never buy another, and i dont recommend them to anyone!
they are very cool to look at, but not a practicle fish to keep!

Sorry to hear about that. the only way I'd keep these is if they were already at a large size or if I was doing it professionally.

Don't feel bad.. mine met a similar fate and I believe for the same reasons. For them to eat you have to keep the food floating which means there needs to be a considerable amount. They do not graze off of the bottom or filters.
