5 spot jewel

I had a nice one about 7 inches. Always kept it with bigger CA/SA cichlids with no prob. Can get pretty aggressive with smaller fish. Pretty much follows trend of typical Jewel cich. Lost him to a crazy Jardini.

These guys are prolific breeders... I have 4 breeding pairs... the rest I just put in a community tank... because the 4 pairs give me thousands of fry a month!
But I reside half way accross the world... don't know how I can send some to you.

All three max out in the 6-8" range. The old TFH books had H. fasciatus maxing out at 12"-wrong.
They look fairly similar and act fairly similarly too. Fasciatus are about the meanest cichlid on the planet-for its size. Very difficult to keep males with anything....and they hate one another even more.
My Hemichromis Elongatus pair are 3 inchs long and laid eggs Monday and they hatched yesterday morning, does anybody know how long it will take them to get 1 inch long? Any additional advice would be greatly appreciated...
