My brother snagged an almost fully mature 5 Star General Cichlid, he is keeping it in a 10 gallon tank (the thing is 7")... he's only keeping it in there because the guy was going to flush it if he didn't want it.

He asked me if I wanted it, but I was reading that they are VERY aggressive. I am not a one fish per tank kind of person, and I don't really know if this is something I should take. I have an empty 55 gallon he could go in for now, and I was thinking he could be added to the River tank, but I don't want him killing off everything..

suggestions?

PS- NONE of the local pet stores would take it.

flush it, wtf?!

The original person is moving to florida, and couldn't take any of his fish, and that was the only one he couldn't find a home for..

just take it.... if you end up not wanting it, bring it to you lfs... sure beats getting flused alive.

Well, the guy said that he killed 2 of his large oscars, and he attacks the glass when you get close. I will take him, just because he's pretty, and you never know... with a large tank he may chill out.
