I got(found) myself a 5' x 2' x 3' tank. Someone threw it out. But I kind of have a teeny problem.

I live on the 4th floor of an apartment building. The lift doesnt serve my floor. I managed to bring it to the 5th floor lift landing but you see, the problem is, the 5 of us(my friends and I) have no clue how to bring it down 1 floor. I know this must be a darn silly question but we're totally clueless. The tank is soooo heavy.

Any suggestions?

This is a glass tank I assume?

I moved my 180 with a friend of mine down my basement stairs and it wasn't too hard. Maybe you could do the same? Find the two strongest men you know...

It's very thick glass. A about 1.5cm thick. The 5 of us couldnt bring it down.

Yes, 5 strong 21 year olds. It was an impossible task still.

it shouldn't be too heavy
is there gravel left inside the tank? it makes a huge difference.

what you could do is get one of those appliance dollies (or utility) that they use to move refrigerators and such. make sure to strap it down nicely, probably with a few ratchet straps, and angle it as you wheel it down with a few friends.

not sure about singapore but around here you can rent them at moving supply stores such as uhaul for 7 dollars a day

Get some moving blankets, lay them down on the stairs and slide the tank as if it were on a conveyor belt. Stand it on end at the bottom of the stairs and rotate it in the direction you want to go. Hope it helps.

If you use this doilly? cut a piece of plywood a little wider than the tank and use it as a back board.
