i have a 5 x 2 x 2.5 tank but don't know what else to stock it with i have some large Ornatopines 3 of them, just thinking what could i put in there?

get some endlis,congicus and laps.
what kind of mid swimmer are you interested in?
it really depends on you.

Just looking for Some fish which would swim nice together i don't want just one fish.

some mid sized cichlids like acaras or geos could be an interesting display along with the polys

can i have some Datnoids? or do they grow to big?

datnioides would be fine.
they just grow way too slow compared to other fish.
how abou a school of hydrolycus tatauaia?
dats and tats would make a good combo since they have about the same growth rate.

I would put a few Dats (maybe 4-6), and maybe some Geophagus altifrons or surinamensis.
