Here is a suggestion for a tank 150-170g of that width, I think it would be active enough and different enough to be interesting.
1 royal clown loach (Leptobotia elongata)
1-2 sun cat (Horobagrus brachysoma)
1 widebar dat (Datnioides pulcher)
3 rock flagtails (Kuhlia rupestris)
3 jade perch (Scortum barcoo)
They should get along nicely

MAN!! I would go with this group.

I have a 150 with the same dimensions as yours stocked with mixed cichlids and man, I think I would go with guppy's suggestions.

Dont get me wrong, I love my GT's, but the others I could really care less about. My tank dont feel MONSTER enough. But thats because I am being swayed by this darn site. My wife hates it when I show her killer fish other people are keeping.

Unless you really love the Idea of 1 big mean fish in a tank do not get a dovii or umbee.
I like everybody else's ideas too but no one has said peacock bass yet :naughty: some temensis and a big oddball cat or two

what thats huge.. my 220 is like 8ft long.. how is a 5ft tank 150?

I'd go with a SA theme with maybe a ray, some geo's, maybe a tig or juruense... lots of possibilities.
:grinyes:

Yep.. a 5'x2'x2' is a pretty common size for a 150gal.

Is a 150 enough for a p.bass?

I agree with the afore mentioned fish - list, except the arowana and dat, just to be on the safe side. I especially like the Sun cats and intend to get some myself instead of the gars, coz i dont think they are gars!!!???
