ok, ya i am not even sure if apstos will work in my water, ph is pretty high. maybe a peaceful dwarf pike would work better. Is there any peaceful dwarf pikes that would work?

None of the dwarf pikes would enjoy the cooling period, but a small pike from Uruguay is Cr. minuano which would probably worlk.
The Oblongum do NOT require a cooling period from what I have been told. They can be kept at regular tank temps all year round without "cooling" for the winter. They can handle a cool period though and do not need to be kept at warm temps year round either. I just received 5 juvies (2-3") last Wednesday though and am only relaying the info that I was told. The kribs can be a bit more aggressive than people realize. When they mate they get even worse. Anything bigger than they are would do fine usually.
