hey all ! I have added 50 cardinal tetras to my 85 with 2 12 inch L-114 plecos/ I feed NLS 3 mm to the plecos every other day then 1 mm to the cardinals every 2nd day. My question is I never see the cardinals eat the 1 mm. Does anybody think the 1 mm are small enough?I had this swarm for a week and they all school together and follow the big plecos when they stirr up the gravel but I don't want the cardinals to starve out. The plecos have been in the tank for 4 years now and are in great shape. The swarm of cardinals look very healthy so far.

1mm is too big IMO. My adult black neons even struggle with .5mm. I feed them NLS flake now.

Yeah some nls flake would help fill some bellies that couldnt eat the pellet. I would still try and feed them pellets too
When I get my camera fixed I will try to upload it. Actually tried the small fish formula it has a pic of neons on the jar. They do seem to eat this pellet since it is very small. trying to stay away from flake as it is very messy.
I tried NLS community pellets (1mm) and my cardinals can't quite eat them. I'm going to try the 0.8mm surface feeder formula next to see if they can handle that.
