50 gallon bichir tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I also used to have this small delhezi. Got him the same time i got the rest of the crew, while the others were shooting past the 8inch mark, even the moke at 7 inches, he remained at 4 tho he ate a lot. Then i discovered he was short bodied. I also have this ornate who seemed to stop at 6 inches after 4 months...then suddenly is undergowing a major growth spurt now. He's currently at 13 inches

Well, i guess a moke will be okay. Id stay away from weeksii, ornate, teugelsi, and the lower jaws, as they grow past 14inches. If space and budget permits, why not upgrade to a 75g tank for your upperjaws (except ornate)? Hehe im telling you, bichirs are like pokemons....you wouldn't stop at four man. Haha as they say, "you gotta catch em all"

I know even though I haven't bought them yet because my other tank broke so I have to transfer my 2 oscar in the 50 gallon temporarily. I can't wait anymore but I have to sell my oscars first. The 50 gallon tank is for life hahahahaha even though I want to upgrade my mom will be mad. I think 4 is my lucky number. No more plants in my tank oscars keep uprooting them :irked:.Thanks again

50 gals Is quite ok for those 3, Ok din if you add one more, a mokelembembe or a retropinnis will do. Just increase the percentage of your water changes as they grow.

I have had 4 sens now my albino and one of the others grew very slow. At the advice of some one online I moved those two to another tank and dewormed them. Since then the albino has doubled in size and the other has more than quadrupled. After that experience I think I will deworm any and all bichirs I purchase.

I had quarentined them for a month before placeing them in my bigger tank. Other than slow growth they had 0 signs of parasites guess some fish just handle it better than others.
