st clair shores
Getting back into it after being out for a few, I just got a 50 gallon (36x18x18) and am going to have a 20 gallon sump. Now I cannot get a lock in what stocking I want, I see brackish I want brackish (GSP) I see salt I want salt, I see fresh I want fresh. All I do know 100% is no reef, and no planted. Other than that I’m open. I would like an interesting tank with color and movement. Any ideas ??

Do you like schooling or predatory?

36x18x18, the largest fish I would put in this tank would be about 5-6"
Do you want a single fish or a community?
If you want single, you could do a male convict cichlid or similar, and maybe coule get away with some swordtails etc as dithers. Not exactly predatory.

If you want a predator, african butterfly fish would work, and you could put some peaceful tankmates which are too large to eat.

Red wolf, senegal bichir, and smaller lurker puffers would all work for that size tank.
