500g Gar tank

Hey all-

Testing out some new lighting in the 8' x 4' x 25" tank. Quick video to show a peek (still more dim than I'd prefer). Going to try making this my official thread for tank updates as well.

Stock: 1x Cuban gar, 7x Tropical gar, 2x Florida gar, 1x Australian lungfish, 1x Marbled Pim, 1x Indian Eel. (only gars appear in the video).

I love how the Cuban just materializes out of the darkness at 0:47. Sick tank man, and the lighting is definitely better than before.

Awesome tank! I have one question, how many guys did it take you to move that? I just bought a glass cages 8x2 and it was hell getting it up a flight of stairs.

It took five guys to get it from my garage to my basement, using a dolly, plywood and rope. It was dangerous and we almost lost it a couple of times - it would have been safer with 6-7 but the stairway was too narrow.

Lifting it straight up from the ground to the stand took help from the girls.

I can't imagine moving thing. One thing for sure about glass cages tanks is that theyre built to last. Thanks for sharing

So are they begging for food or something? They don't seem to be very afraid of you being near their aquarium.

They are very, very comfortable with me (minus the 4 newest), especially when they are hungry. If I am downstairs they crowd the front of the tank waiting for food.

In the spirit of trying to keep one collective thread going for my tank, I'm going to bring over some pictures from the day of the Cuban gar's arrival even though they are posted just a few threads down.
