Hi everyone i have this 50g empty aquarium laying around and was wondering if i can keep a flowerhorn for life in there?

any answers to my question would be helpful thank you.

Mine is in a 55, but I'm looking for a new tank. I would think a 75 would suit him better. He doesn't seem to have a hard time turning even though he is longer than the tank wide..... but he does a lot of glass banging.

55gl is the minimum but I think it would work but if you want to get his max potential you need a bigger tank...but if your fh is an average looking fh it might do the trick I've seen fh's in a 30gl tank living there for years.

thx aquatic_wonders, ive also seen fh's in a 30gl thats why i made this post but i now see its probably better housing a FH in a 55gl+..

ty again, and thank you everyone else

If you want to condem your Flowerhorn to a 50G, well I feel for the fish. It quite common to see 14" and 15" specimens so you need a 75G bare minimum.
