Thanks for all of the input guys! You all had me just about ready to start drawing up plans for a big old sump, but then I was introduced to the wonderful world of Wlim filters. I don't think it would be right for me to disclose my quote, but I'm going to be getting a Wlim Bioglass 16", a Wave I 1/15th hp 3000gph pump and possibly a 25W inline UV sterilizer. It'll be more expensive than building the sumps, but it's no where close to the cost of a properly set up Ultima II.
