It looks like you`ve thought this project through, what sort of finish will you use? Plywood is still just plywood if you paint it or varnish it.A hardwood veneer would look awesome!

Thanks guys! The crappy weather seems to have passed. I'm gonna try to get some work done on my next days off, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Are you talking about a finish for the outside? If so I'm planning on doing a 1/4 inch oak paneling stained a dark walnut with some molding to make it look handsome.

Great build, are you using glue as well or just the screws?

Mostly screws but I'm using glue in some places, particularly the wood holding the window. With how I'm dramatically overdoing it with the screws I don't see much of an advantage to gluing everything.

I love the build so far. I like the idea of doubling up the 2x4's around the frame. Not many have tried building a truly portable plywood tank of this size. It looks like a very well built shipping crate. Just needs a pallet underneath it, so that it can be lifted with forklift, and onto the truck. :)

Sorry for this little bit of criticism here, but man that is a heck of a lot of screws. Seems like that many would make the interior of the tank more prone to cracking, absorbing water, or leaking, more than reinforcing it. Hopefully, it's a moot point after you add several layers of resin and fiberglass though. Maybe it would just be easiest to line the interior with a another layer of plywood, than go over all the screw holes with wood filler. Just glue the extra layer of ply in, instead of screwing it, then you'd have a rather flawless interior to work with. It doesn't have to be thick ply either, 1/4" would work. Home Depot has 1/4 in. x 4 ft. x 8 ft. Moisture-Resistant Plywood Underlayment (Model # 431178 Store SKU # 492930) for $10.87 a sheet. It's nice stuff to work with.
