What size width are you looking at? Need all three dimensions, how did you come up with 5300 gallons?

No i've never been to Miami

Hi
here in brasil we work in liters, and i want the tank to hold 20,000 liters (about 5300gal.) Johnptc u the man! if u ever read this i would like to ask u 4 questions to start with:
1. the tank glass is acrylic right?
2. u said it was 72´in height, is that right?
3. i dont know if i read it right in your topic, but the filters were placed above the tank?
4. were did u buy those 6000w heaters...would a pool heater work?

The glass/acrylic thickness is determined by the height of the tank. For every 12" of height, there is .43/.46 psi of pressure. You could have the tank with a HUGE footprint, but only have it 12" high and it would need 3/8" glass at the most. However, you could also, hypotheorecticly have the tank 12" deep, but the height and length would be tremendous. Making the glass needing to be much thicker.

What dimensions are you wishing to have?

Dimensions i wish r 10´length x 10´deep x 10´tall! want vision from every 4 sides! 2" thick acrylic glass will hold?

filters........

currently i like the hayward swimming pool cartridge filters ( mdl 5025) for mechanical , i would run at least three fiters at 100 -125 us gallons per minute each

i used bio balls for the bio filter... i would run at least 300 gallons of bio balls in towers or plastic 55 gallon barrels with oscillating water levels.

large commercial electric heaters from http://www.aquaticeco.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/product.detail/iid/9177/cid/2180

a pool heater should be fine if it has a good thermostat

so is 10 feet tall.

mine tank is 2 inch thick

I have no doubts, but that will be EXPENSIVE!!! :WHOA::WHOA::WHOA:

i think 5 inch 'sheets' would all be custom a la seaworld:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

 sounds more like the viewing windows aboard those deep sea submersibles
