55 and 40L ?'s and stocking

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i would probably end up with a senagal, a knifefish, and a leaffish, i dont care to much for spinyeels and if the size difference is big the eel will get eaten. why do you put "L" after "40" instead of gal., 40gal. is 40gal., 40L is a little more then 12gal (i think).

what kind of combination would work out of the following: senegal, leaf fish, fire eel, spiny eel, african black knife
senegal, fire eel, and knife fish. your leaf fish wil be a snack even if all of them are started as juveniles since leaf fish will still be the smallest.

yeah leaffish small but they are nocturnal and fast so they probably wouldnt get eaten.

I've actually heard leaf fish are rather slow....only problem i see with this tank is the fact that it almost has to be planted and i don't want to have to do a whole lot of work with plants.

Seems this might not work out anymore since parents aren't crazy about more tanks in the house.....so i'm thinking i'll just clear out my 29 gallon, take it up into my room and set it up with 1 senegal and 1 or 2 ctenopoma's......maybe at a later time i can set up a tank with local beasts...

Sorry for the bumpage of old threads, but i thought it would be better then starting a new one.

I MAY get a 75 gallon tank/stand/filters/heaters/lights ect for $125 plus $75 for delivery to my house. seems like an excellent deal to me, and i'm thinking the stocking of this as:

1x senegal
3x leopard ctenopomas
5x pictus catfish

I need some sort of algea eater...but i've heard plecos dont' mix with bichir
