The exodons and plec are on borrowed time my friend. Move them now before its too late. It might be a few months, a year, maybe 2, but they will not survive long term in that tank....

Drats. I haven't heard much along the Pleco's compatibility with them, but I've read in alot of places that the Exodons typically survive with them. If the case is otherwise though, looks like I'm selling em' =(

Try to give them dark surrounding with a few places to hide. Dark gravel, with some rocks for them to hide behind, or something similar for them to hide under. If you want to try your hand in live plants, start off with a few Amazonian Swords. I currently have about 3 RBP's, 4 Exadon, and a Pleco in a 60g tank. They've been doing fine for a couple months now. You also might want to get some Blackwater extract to make them feel a little more at home. Blackwater Extract will give the water a slight colorization, and add certain nutrients they are native to in the Amazon (From what I understand).
just wondering were can i find blackwater extract ? how dark dose it make the water?

Use Google to find. It found quite a few sites for Blackwater extract. Not sure how dark it makes it.

just wondering in all reallity is black water extract a important eliment to add to the water or can he get away with not adding it and maybe just dim the light a bit????

To clarify a little, there are different types of water when it comes to river-born fish. Clearwater, Whitewater, and Blackwater. Many P's come from the Blackwaters of the Amazon. Blackwater is "jungle water" basically.

(Sciene)
To read off the product that I have, Blackwater Extract contains trace elements, vitamins, and valuable extract of peat. It creates and enviroment similar to part of the Amazon River and other natural, blackwater biotopes. Blackwater extract promotes fish activity levels. When added to the aquarium, a light yellow color will appear.
(/Science)

I've been using it in my aquarium with my P's for about a month now. It know the Extract isn't the single cause for the appearance of my fish, but I'm sure it helps, because the P's are looking good.

Anyways, I picked up an 8OZ bottle of it for about $6.50. If I use it in the right doses at the right times, this bottle should last for a little under 5 months given my tank size.

All in all for the look of the tank, it doesn't do much. You can see a slight tint, as the bottle described, but that's about it. I apologize for those I might have put under the impression that the extract darkens the water completely.

if you want piranhas i suggest 2 or 3 maybe even 4 ( for a while ) rbps ...or if you like serras maybe a spilo or sanchezi...they arent too expensive
