Nope totally wrong, With some fish like my peacock cichlids, length of the tank is what’s important and a 55 is way better for them than a 40b, try putting 25 peacocks in a 40b and see how it works out. Smh

You have 25 cichlids in a 55 gallon? sigh * Obviously 25 cichilds wouldnt work in a 40B thats not the point.

I just realized this tread has over 315 comments woohoo we reached the 300 mark???
Oh that's nothing. I was on a 144 page thread before.
I mean i guess the 40b will be better for people who like to aquascape and the 50 for people who want more water volume
No. Both are good. (I'd want to aquascape both. lol)

I have 27, I guess you don’t know about keeping Aulonocara or mbuna, that’s fine tho, if you never kept them you wouldn’t know . That is the point, a 55 is perfect smaller tank for this purpose, a 40b would not work for Aulonocara, maybe for mbuna. That’s why there’s no such thing as one tank being better than another 100% of the time. I have 32 years of experience keeping everything from goldfish to reefs. My specialty is African cichlids

Okay ima spoil some of my plans for the 100 gallon so is there any species of freshwater filter feeding fish that is not an African aro because they are illegal in Florida

Soooooo after long and careful reconsidering yeah im not a person who likes tropical fish communities that much ??but i like aggressive fish so ima use my 30 gallon as a grow out for the a blue tilapia and a mayan cichlid because also because when the fish are growing ima already have the 100 gallon already setted up Because im buying all the stuff to setup my 30 gallon at the same time as im getting the stuff for the 100 gallon and the 100 gallon will already be bought

You should only get stuff for the 55 and put that on the 30 until you upgrade. Will save you a lot of money.

Are you still going to buy the GDCs or not?
