marineland has LED fixtures out now. Never have to change a bulb again! but it really depends on what you want to do with the tank I suppose.

just for regular use.. nothing special.. not planted or anything like that so yea..

I prefer glass tops to those plastic full hoods and you can use any light fixture on it you would like. I haven't tried the Marineland LEDs, but I've seen good things about them

yeah they make a great reflecting swirl on the botom of the tank and a lot of them come with moon lighting already.

I have glass tops on one tank and the plastic hoods on the other. I actually prefer the plastic hoods...lifting up the glass tops is sort of annoying b/c it pushes the light strip back, plus plastic hoods have small holes in them for air tubing which is neat. Both came with used tanks though...honestly the difference between em is minuscule so I'd buy the cheaper one lol

I'd go with glass. I bought one of those 10w LED on ebay with LED driver. I mount it on a heatsink and bought a chrome plated bowl ( used it as reflector) , works great so far on my 75... it was just an experiment that I might end up getting 2 more of those.
