I prefer the glass tops as well, for one it looks more sleek, I like that there is a big opening when lifting to feel, rearrange..ect.. without having to take the whole lid off.. and one of the nicest pros about glass is the water does not evaperate as quickly..

Sorry no link, I got my 40B glass lid at one of my lfs.. for $33.

If you go glass tops I recommend you find a local glass company and have them cut the glass for you. You can have glass cut for really cheap and can buy the hinge and handles from most lfs. This will save you some money so you can buy a better light. Try ebay for reasonably priced aquarium strip lights.

just for regular use.. nothing special.. not planted or anything like that so yea..

they have reef light ones im sure that would be more then enough for a planted tank im just saying if u wanted and it still is great lighting with the water shimmer

cheap nice and very bright i have bough form them before people give them a bad rep but the new fixtures they came out with are great
