55 gallon need some ideas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
don't worry i wouldn't want to stunt there growth or anything im actually considering getting a silver dollar instead..

and im wondering if a Senegal bricher will live comfortably in a 55..

neve mind the brichers off the list so far i got silver dollar pleco Cory and brown knife come on :Pany new suggestion preferabley they will eat shrimp pellets and worms and wont out grow a 55

slver dollar outgorws a 55 gallon, and they prefer schools. Senegal bicher is fine, but since you got a cory its probably going to be picked on or eaten, unless you get small peaceful fish.

I'd just gor for a few smaller cichilids like acaras, sajica, firemouth, convict, sajica, festivum, rainbow cichlid etc.

With tese fish you can probably put like 4 of them in the tank fine with a few bottom dwellers.

If I ever get the $$, I would start a tank with a variety of plecos, loaches, catfish, and bichirs :)

A lot of options that will fit in a 55g too

no im thinking of either zebra or bristle nose plecos

i got two bichirs but one went up in my filter last night :P so i got a sponge on there now  i cant believe it. im going to replace him then wait a while before i get anything else

im getting a 55 this saturday i got 2 bichirs and a brown knife
im thinking of a fw puffer i know i can get the dwarf but are than any other slightly larger like 4-5 inches max. i need a top dweller, and a mid the bottom is full..

BUMP

puffers are very interesting and amuseing fish.. and very predetory. generally kept in species tanks and depending what type your talkign about most are brackish/saltwater or should be kept that way with the exception of some the true fw puffers. I've yet to keep a puffer with anything else without the puffer eating the rest of it's tankmates in time. 2 sens, 1 brown, anything mid sized and non aggresive should fit the bill, larger tetras, peaceful cichlids, needle nose gar ( which is actually a predetory tetra, looks like a gar but stays small enough for a 55)
